Schwerpunkte unserer wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten sind verschiedene Aspekte der Anpassung von Pflanzen an kurzzeitig auftretende Umweltveränderungen insbesondere abiotische Stressfaktoren.

Unter anderem untersuchen wir die molekularen Grundlagen Ca2+-abhängiger Signalwege sowie die Rolle von Ca2+, ROS und Pflanzenhormonen im abiotischen Stress.

Unsere Forschungsobjekte sind neben der Modellpflanze Arabidopsis thaliana auch die wichtigen Nutzpflanzen Gerste und Kartoffel.
